Not everybody knows that diving is a developed extreme kind of sport in Ukraine. Nowadays there are more than 50 different organizations in Ukraine which deal with diving. You can find a diving club in any resorttown. Diving in Ukraine is both for the beginners and for the masters. In case you don't have your own equipment, you can rent it in any diving club.

There are a lot of interesting places for diving in Ukraine, let's just remember the fact that UKRAINE is washed by two seas and has a lot of ponds. The Black Sea and the Sea of Azov are ancient seas which makes diving there even more interesting. Fragments of old Russian, German and British ships sunk at the times of the Crimean War (1853-1856) and the Second World War (1939-1945) are still in the depths of the Black Sea. It is also possible to find ancient Greek ceramics in the coastal waters of Kerch, Feodosiya and Sevastopol. The CRIMEA is truly a treasure of Ukraine, the most popular places for diving are situated there – Sarych, Tarkhankut peninsula, Cape Fiolent, etc.

If you prefer fresh water diving, Ukraine also has something to offer you. The Dnieper is the largest and the most important river in Ukraine. It has rich and long history, from the earliest times the Dnieper served as a trade route for Greek and Roman ships and all the historical events of Zaporizhian Sich happened also there. That is why you can't find a better place for underwater archeology. Other rivers which are best for fresh water diving are the Vorskla, the Desna, the Seversky Donets, etc.

Diving in Ukraine has been developing for many years and offers a great variety of services: from the acquaintance with the underwater life to the special courses for getting the international certificate. Training in Ukrainian diving clubs is conducted according to such standards as СМАS, PADI, CEDIP, TDI, IANTD, NAUI. And don't forget about the famous among European divers festival «Silver Shark» where you can meet like-minded persons and share the experience.
