RAFTING IN UKRAINE
Picturesque nature, full-flowing clean rivers and beautiful landscapes, what else do we need for a successful rafting? Ukraine has all of these things! Rafting has become very popular nowadays, more and more people want to have more than basking in the sun from travels.
Rafting is an extreme kind of sport which means floating down mountain rivers. There are two types of rafting tours. One or two days travels with an accommodation in a base camp or days-long tours with living in a camp. If you're a beginner we advise you to take one or two days long tours. The equipment for rafting is quite unwieldy so there are some ways to make your tour easier – the equipment can be either transported by cars in case there are roads along the river or by a vessel.
The most popular rivers for rafting in Ukraine are the South Bug and the Cheremosh. Enchanting river South Bug is located in the south-western part of Ukraine. The routes and stops are elaborated by qualified instructors. The route is very picturesque, interesting and safe; it is full of amazing canyons and impetuous rapids. The banks of the South Bug are decorated with luxuriant greenery – majestic poplars and leafy willows grow along with wild flowers. This territory is the base of one of the most beautiful national parks in Ukraine «Buzhskiy Gard».
Rafting on the river Cheremosh is better for those who don't have experience as the river is smaller and calmer. The river is located in the Carpathians so fresh and clean mountain air should be an important advantage for you. The best time for rafting on the Cheremosh is the end of May – the beginning of April as at this time the river has the highest water level. If you like comfort you can live in rafting clubs where you can even find saunas, small private hotels, camping and swimming pools.
Such fascinating travel will leave you a lot of memories, give an opportunity to try your strength and see the wonderful Ukrainian nature.
